desert flowers.

Before we took off, I imagined the desert as a barren place. Endless sand with perhaps the the odd cactus, holding strong against the elements.

As we drove through Nevada, I noticed low growing foliage everywhere. Little bushes and small flowers plants dotted the landscape. Small instances of life. Everywhere. Despite the 45 degree (Celsius) temperature, the lack of any shade or visible water sources, there they were. Adapters. Survivors.

I am so enjoying this whole series of photos from your trip! I've never been to the desert, and am finding it much lovelier than I would have anticipated. Such a different kind of beauty from the woods and hills of Pennsylvania, but still so pretty!
